A new church, forming in Fuquay-Varina

Church isn’t a building. It’s people – broken and in pieces – made whole in Christ.

I’m Matt Curtis. Over this next year I’m planting a church here in Fuquay. No polish, no pretense – just people figuring out how to follow Jesus together. Come along.

So, what’s “’Sup”?

New here?
Here’s the short version.

’Sup started as a community newsletter – short for “What’s up, Fuquay?” It stuck, because that’s really the whole idea: showing up, being real, and checking in on the people around us.

It’s also the name of this website – a home base for a new church we’re planting in Fuquay-Varina, launching in 2027. ’Sup isn’t the church’s name; the church will get its own name closer to launch. For now, this is simply where you’ll find who we are, where we’re headed, and how to be part of it from the ground floor.

The heart of it

A disciple isn’t made on a stage or handed a title. It’s the uncomplicated thing of being open to what God’s asking of you – and then actually doing it. Community is just that, lived out together.

Relational before transactional

People first, always. Every system we build exists to care for people, not to process them.

Keep it simple

What does Scripture say? Follow that – and here’s how. Faith made more accessible, not more complicated.

Authentic & transparent

Keep it real. It’s too exhausting to fake it or hide – and secrecy only breeds distrust.

Meet Matt

A pastor who’d rather be honest than impressive.

I’ve spent the last few years serving the Fuquay community, and I’m now in a one-year residency preparing to plant a church here. This site is where I’ll share what I’m learning, where things stand, and how you can be part of it.

No fog machines, no hype. Just the Word, real relationships, and a community trying to make following Jesus a little more livable.

Questions?

The stuff people usually ask.

Can’t find it here? Reach out — Matt reads every note.

Is ’Sup the name of the church?

No — ’Sup is just the name of this website, the bridge between now and launch. The church itself will get its own name closer to when we open its doors in 2027. Get on the list and you’ll be among the first to hear it.

Can I visit the church right now?

Not yet — we launch in 2027. This next year is a residency: preparing, building relationships, and laying the groundwork. Get on the list and you’ll be the first to know when and where we gather.

Where will the church meet?

Right here in Fuquay-Varina. We’re still finalizing the location, and it’ll be one of the first things we announce as launch gets closer.

So what does “’Sup” mean?

It started as a neighborhood newsletter — short for “What’s up, Fuquay?” It stuck, because that’s the heart of it: showing up, being real, and checking in on the people around us. It’s the name of this site, not the church.

How can I be involved before launch?

Pray, share it with a friend, and stay on the list. Want to serve directly? The Volunteer page lists where hands are needed right now. If you feel led to help financially, there’s a giving section above — every gift goes straight toward launching in 2027.

Who’s behind this?
